From
5:45 PM to 6:00 PM on September 16, Tonia Holderman of Carolina Adventist
Retirement Systems shares information about the Pisgah Valley Wellness
Program.
At
6:00 PM, caregivers are invited to participate in a guided discussion
followed by a presentation with Carol McLimans about Coping with Caregiver
Stress. Her presentation describes each caregiving situation as unique.
What is stressful for one caregiver may not be stressful for someone else.
The stress a caregiver feels is not only the result of the caregiving situation;
it is also an individual’s perception of it.
This
presentation provides tools that help caregivers recognize their warning
signs of stress, identify some sources of caregiver stress, identify what
they can and cannot change and take action to better manage and reduce
stress.
Our
meal in September is sponsored by
Carolina
Adventist Retirement Systems.
| David and Salina Freeman are providing
chair massage services for caregivers
who attend the Park Ridge HOPE Caregiver Wellness Program. This service
is available from 5:15 to 7:15 PM. The Freeman's will set-up just
outside the Duke Room.
When you arrive, let them know you want
a massage and they will schedule one for you. There is no charge.
This service is being provided because of the generosity of the sponsors
for our workshop in June. See our website to identify these sponsors.
This service will also be offered at the
October and November meetings. |
